Well, I finally found a hole in my schedule to do some much needed maintenance to the sickle...
That 37 yr old front end had been giving me some trouble, so I decided to graft on a more modern version. Obviously, some basic ground rules must be observed when engaging in any kind of motorcycle work...
Firstly: Strong black coffee should be ready and at your side for sipping. This comes in handy when you walk around the bike wondering if you know what you're doing.
Secondly: Smoking of anything other than tobacco is not recommended and should be saved for after the test ride.
There may be more, but I can't remember right now...

Given the rude temper of these times, a quick road trip to the bay area, to meet up with some old friends, strikes me as a fine idea...
Now the only question that remains is: do I ride my bike, drive my car, or rent some sort of off-road vehicle to make things a little more interesting?
